This Privacy Policy explains how Pangea (“Pangea,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the Pangea add-in for Microsoft Outlook and this website. Pangea translates and drafts your outgoing email right inside Outlook, and we built it to be private by default.
Information we process
We keep what we touch to the minimum needed to do the job you asked for:
- Email content you choose to act on. When you ask Pangea to translate or draft a message, the relevant text from your draft or the conversation is sent to our service to generate the result you requested. We process only the content you explicitly act on — not your wider mailbox.
- Account & identity. When you sign in, we receive your name and email address from your Microsoft account to authenticate you and associate your seat.
- Team & billing. For team plans, we store your organization, seat assignments, roles, and subscription status to provide and bill the service.
- Technical diagnostics. We keep limited operational logs (such as error events and timestamps) to keep the service reliable. These do not contain the content of your messages.
How we use it
Solely to provide the service you asked for: producing translations and drafts, signing you in, managing seats and roles, and processing billing. Nothing else.
What we don't do
We do not use your email content to train AI models. We do not sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.
Service providers
To deliver translations and drafts, the text you act on is processed by our AI provider (Google, via the Gemini API). We also rely on Microsoft for sign-in, Stripe for payments, and Vercel, Railway, and Supabase for hosting, authentication, and data storage. Each provider processes data only to deliver its part of the service.
Data retention
Message content is processed transiently to return your result and is not retained as part of your stored profile. Account, seat, and billing records are kept while your subscription is active and for as long as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, access to production systems is restricted, and authentication uses your existing Microsoft identity rather than a separate password.
Your rights & choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us. You can remove Pangea at any time from Outlook's add-in settings, which stops any further processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the revised version here and update the date above.
